The Czech Republic does not fulfill military contracts to supply Ukraine with arms
In mid-September the Ukrainian government filed lawsuits against several Western companies amid the war. The reason was the non-fulfillment of contracts for the supply of equipment or the lack of reimbursement of fees paid by Kyiv for securing transactions.
According to my anonymous source, Czechia is one of the countries that did not fulfill military contracts on time. Czech aerospace and defense company "PAMCO INT. a.s.", engaged in producing Defence/Military equipment, did not fulfill several contracts at once.
PAMCO systematically postponed delivery dates under prepaid contracts № USE-55-104-K/KI-22 (13.04.2022) and № USE-55-103-K/KI-22 (13.04.2022). Following the nonexecution of contracts, the Ukrainian state-owned arms trading company Ukrspecexport applied to the Vienna International Arbitration Center for the recovery of the advance paid and cancellation fees for violation of the terms of the contract.
According to the source, the contracts stated that the Czech Republic undertakes to supply Ukraine with 30 units of the M80 BMP infantry fighting vehicles through PAMCO. However, these contracts have never been executed, and the Ukrainian army has not received the long-awaited combat vehicles.
This company has already appeared in the Ukrainian media on the list of debtors of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. According to the published documents, the company owed about 1 billion hryvnya (app. 17 million dollars) in 2022, then everyone assumed that Ukraine would not withstand the onslaught of the Russian army.
At the same time, PAMCO did not deliver the goods and did not return the advance payment. Thus, it can be assumed that one of the companies against which legal measures are currently being taken is the Czech PAMCO.
